These photos were taken by French photographer Yan Morvan during the 1970's. The images are from the beginning of his career which started with a stint photographing the Hell's Angels around the suburbs of Paris. After spending some time in Bangkok photographing prostitutes, Morvan came back to Paris and captured more images of bikers/rockers which were used in his first book titled "The Leather and Baston."
I find it interesting how much American biker culture influenced French bikers in the 1970's. Just compare these photos with those taken of the Outlaws or the Hells Angels in the 1960's and the similarities in motorcycles and dress are numerous. It just took about ten years for it all to filter across the Atlantic. Vive Levi's, rock n' roll and Harley-Davidson!
